The Government of Madhya Pradesh declared the college autonomous in 1998.

The J.E.C. Library System consists of a Central Library, which collectively supports the teaching, research and extension programes of the Institute.

The Library has a rich collection of books on science and technology including chemistry, mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, electrical and electronics engineering, industrial production engineering.

The college also has an active placement cell that organizes regular interviews with reputed companies and arranges seminars and visits for the benefits of the students.
